Caro Berndt has been supporting the iff as a student assistant since July 2024. She is a social worker/social pedagogue (B.A.) with further training as a debtor and insolvency counselor and works as such in Ludwigshafen in the Haus der Diakonie of the Diakonisches Werk Pfalz. The office is one of six debtor and insolvency counseling centers specializing in addiction in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate. She is currently studying for a Master’s degree in Social Work at the Ludwigshafen University of Business and Society. In cooperation with the university, she conducted research in 2021-2023 on behalf of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation on the financing of debtor and insolvency counseling in the state of Bavaria. As part of her work at iff, Ms. Berndt is responsible for the scoping workshop on “Debt and over-indebtedness research: gaps and future strategies”, which is funded by the VW Foundation.
