Prizes
In honour of the 18th Conference of the International Association of Consumer Law (IACL) held in Hamburg, Germany on July 19th to 21st, 2023, the Institute for Responsible Finance has awarded Udo Reifner Prize, Sustainability Prize and Young Academics Prize. The prizes aimed to encourage academic work in and recognize valuable contributions to different fields of consumer law. The Scientific Committee consisting of Christopher Bisping, Petra Buck-Heeb, Duygu Damar-Blanken, Michelle Kelly-Louw, Helena Klinger, Michael Knobloch, Ulrich Krüger, Hans Micklitz, Hanne Roggemann, Peter Rott and Klaus Tonner reviewed the papers submitted for the prizes according to the previously announced criteria. Accordingly,
Miguel Ángel Alarcón Cañuta has been awarded the Udo Reifner Prize for his paper “Over-indebtedness as a Condition of Hypervulnerability and its Impact on Consumer Solvency Assessment Policy”
Patricia Antunes Laydner has been awarded the Sustainability Prize for her paper “Extending the Concept of Consumer to Victims of Pollution”
Zhen Chen has been awarded the Young Academics Prize for her paper “The Classification of Dual Purpose Contracts in European Private International Law”
